The Ōtaki river is a tupuna (ancestor) and mauri (life force) of Ngāti Raukawa people. The awa has been long accessed as a rich source of food and rongoā (medicines).
Come down to Chrystalls Bend where local practitioners from ONE Whare Rongoā will share stories and tikanga (customary practices) unique to the area. Bring a picnic for afterwards.
