Great Cocky Count Workshop - Kwinana

  • John Wellard Community Centre Wellard, WA 6167 Australia (map)

The Great Cocky Count Workshop

The Great Cocky Count Workshop is for anyone who would like to participate in one of the biggest Citizen Science Projects in Australia, Saturday 10 March. This workshop will give specific information about the Red-tailed and Carnaby Cockatoos as well as the opportunity to register directly for the event in March.

2018 will be the tenth Great Cocky Count. Volunteers will monitor known roost sites and count black cockatoos as they come in to their evening roosts. The data collected from across the south west provides a snapshot of black cockatoo numbers and identifies any changes in numbers.

The workshop will give information about the cocky count, their preferred habitat and behaviour, as well as the opportunity to register directly for the event. The Workshop is being run by Birdlife Australia in conjunction with the City of Kwinana.

RSVP to Bush Care Officer on 94390418 or email angela.jakob@kwinana.wa.gov.au
